Hi everyone I have been on the site for a while now but never got around to introducing myself, so here goes.
My name is Douglas but like to be called Dougie, I am 57 years old and male, I live in Glasgow, Scotland, UK and I am a religious person who attends church every Sunday.
3 words that describe me, friendly, honest and doesn't suffer fools, I know more than 3 words.
I do not have any pet's and do not want any, I enjoy most sports but particularly football and follow Glasgow Rangers, but enjoy a good football match, I also look out for Glasgow warriors rugby team results.
I do get angry easily and especially when driving as I feel there are a lot of idiots on the roads these days. Favourite music, I have very varied tastes and like ELO, Queen, the Beegees and Jean Michelle Jarre.I have travelled to Austria, USA, France and the Greek islands but my favourite place, apart from home, is Hawaii.
I enjoy watching programmes like grimm, elementary, house M.D.and sports programmes, films I like are the Lord of the rings trilogy, the hobbit, despicable me and star trek.

Type 1 diabetic since the beginning of time...I started with a GLASS syringe 34years ago. Had countless comas, have allergies to some insulins, VERY unstable blood sugar...but, let's face it, that's probably the least of my issues!!

Hi I'm Debs, I live in North of England's we have an elderly cat called Crimbo (17yrs) and a mini schnauzer puppy called Harley who is nearly one and a few days. Civil partner is Leonie.

I'm prediabetic, on a low carb diet on the Healthier You NHS course for next 8 months on week 3. I've lost 2 St in just over 4 weeks. I've been on fatty liver diet to help my gallbladder & fatty liver over last 2 weeks. I'm due to have my gallbladder out by bariatric surgeon in approx 6 wks.

I'm gluten free have been for 20+ years
I'm asthmatic for 25yrs, brittle asthma and a hare lip & double cleft palate.
l have a massive hiatus hernia, a degenerated left knee, left achillies tendinitis, with hypothyroidism after my thyroid wouldn't turn back on after hospital zapped it with radioactive iodene when I had hyperthyroidism. My mobility is very poor using 2 arm crutches, front room to door of my car in driveway or car into our home less tha 20yrds.

Like cooking, writing poetry, music esp prog rock, Pink Floyd, Yes, jazz funk, soul, r'n'b like Texas, Alison Moyet, Melissa Etheridge.

Like TV USA or UK Crime drama, thrillers, medical & Scifi = SVU, Instinct, Blindspot, Homeland, Night Shift, Chicago Med, Chicago Fire, 911, Happy Valley, House of Cards, Designated Survivor, Unforgotten. StarTrek - DISCOVERY, lost in space, touch,
Some comedy eg Grace & Frankie, 100 foot journey.

Im new here just joined im mark 38 from blackpool uk. Been type 2 diabetic for 3 years and 2 days ago was told i am now type 1 i have toujeo insulin once every 24 hours and another insulin i have to take straight after meals. I learned alot about type 2 diabetes over the years and this type 1 is now sonething i have to read up on grrrr

I've had severe complications for the last 15yrs, kept in check for 11 of those years after a pancreas alone transplant in 2008. Unfortunately it failed in Dec 2018, so I'm back on the list waiting for an organ! Gastroparesis keeps me pretty unwell unfortunately, but I'm hanging on in there and would be more than happy to chat to anyone about diabetes and life and everything in-between!
