Fybogel

I’ve recently been diagnosed with pre-diabetes and also have ibs. I am taking Fybogel twice a day but see that due to aspartame content it is not recommended in people with diabetes. I asked my gp but they didn’t know if I should continue with it. Any advice? If the answer is No, is there an alternative that would be better for me?

Where are you getting that info from? Aspartame is a sugar replacement so millions of diabetics use it.

I'm a newbie but changing to a LCHF diet killed my IBS dead in 3 days. Also killed my acid reflux in the same three days. I had a bottle Gaviscon by my bed (it messes with B12 so neuropathy is on the cards I found out recently), no more hopefully. Don't sweat the drugs, change your diet. I'd say "what have you got to lose"?

Psyllium husk is good too if you don't like fybrogel. I liked it best in porridge but others don't like the slimey gelatinous gloopiness of it when water is added.
