Morning

I wouldn't say I fast as such other than the old fashioned "fast" that comes with eating 3 meals a day compared to the snack generation. I just wondered if anyone knew much about fasting and anaemia ? Is it a good idea ?

Thanks:)

@bulkbiker knows a lot about fasting.

I can’t see fasting making the situation particularly worse other than removing the opportunity to get some iron rich meals in. Assuming the foods you eat when not fasting are iron rich or you supplement then there shouldn’t be an issue.

Finding out why you are anaemic May help.

Seems that it's not recommended although theres not a lot of literature. Most of it seems to revolve around Ramadan so would be dry fasting during daylight hours.
As @Diakat says finding out why anaemic and fixing that before fasting would probably be a good idea.
I can't see any mechanism of it helping with anaemia in any way though.. sorry.

Thanks both, yes I'm "under the doctor" as my granny would say and I know the cause and am taking iron tablets to prevent transfusion.

Will get my levels up first and get my strength back.
