Just cut my finger quite badly cooking just before testing. My bs numbers spiked. Could this be due to the bleeding wound?

Could very well be a reaction to the physical shock - release of adrenaline causes release of blood glucose in response.

Thank you both. Very informative.
Also if you didn't properly wash your hands (if you just testing using the blood from the cut) you may have had stuff on your fingers from the cooking that could affect it as well.

Yes @KK123...I probably should have clarified, that.

Back then j was petrified EVERYTHING was diabetes related ...and that was the case until a few months back as well, if I'm honest.

Now I realise, I am not superman, from another planet, who is invulnerable and has conquered my weakness to KRYPTONITE.

I'm more Clark Kent, cutting back on foods that aren't so good for me to manage an illness

And as such am just as vulnerable to the every day illnesses, sickness & accidents that other Earthlings get.

And when stumbling around early morning, just as susceptible to furniture 'leaping' out at me, as the average Joe.:***:

So yeah, the toe was black, bloodied and sore for ages, but it still lives at the end of my foot,
Wiggling happily with all the others...

And LONG may that continue..
(well that's the plan ;) )
