Hi all,
Quick background
Diagnosed 5 months ago type 1
On lantus and novorapid
Not been on dafne yet. Am going to next one available In a couple of months
So here's my issue
Let's say my bg is 8.2 before food
I'll take novorapid
Eat
It rises to maybe 14
Then falls back down to 8 or less in 4 hours
I asked my consultant
She said take novorapid 30 to 40 mins before food.
I've done this. Sometimes it makes it fall back down more quickly. Sometimes the peak is lower.
The consultant said rises after food are ok. But it should go back to normal in 2 hours. Not 4.
So do u guys think as well as taking the novorapid earlier I should take more?? Also any comment on consultants advise??
I'm currently making guesses on amount of novorapid as I've not do ne the course yet.i adjust according to what I eat. I use carbs and cals book for guidance too
