Hi there all

Whats the deal in the UK when it comes to having a driving license, driving, while being classed medically as hypo unaware? Any knowledge on how the DVLA treat you? compared to if you wernt hypo unaware? /just general differences if any

thanks

I think the main thing is to follow DVLA insulin guidelines and test every 2 hours and within 2 hours of driving. If you are hypo unaware then I would suggest you need to test more frequently than that and run your BS slightly higher than normal when planning to drive. I'm not sure whether you have any DVLA restrictions when defined as hypo unaware. But if you have hypos which need the intervention of third parties to help and they are more than two, I believe, during the year then you will have your licence suspended. So, test often.
