bouts of frequent urination, clear urine

I'm 33 years old now. I have a health challenge since my 20's. I would have frequent urinary infections back then
and was treated with antibiotics. Some time later, My issue started with frequent urination and clear urine.
It happened very few times. As days went by ( years went by ), the frequent urination became more and more frequent.
The urinary pattern is very intermittent : There are days when I go about 20 times a day with full bladder and each time the
urine is clear and dilute. This happens without drinking water also. The urination becomes worse when exposed to cold
weather. There are other days when I go normally about 6 times a day
and urine looks yellow and concentrated. I have lived with this for 10 years and has become difficult to lead life with
this.. The dehydration has led to many other symtopms such as trouble breathing, acidity, bone loss, hair loss
and vision issues, yeast infections. I have had all blood tests Glucose test, GCT, liver function test, Kidney tests,
heart test, brains scans and consulted number of doctors over this , but yet no solution.
I also had test for diabetes insipidus in which the test results were non-confirming as I was able to concentrate urine
delayed. I can put my issues to the below reasons but can't tell whic one? My wife also seemed to have caught this
issue wiht me as she mentioned she has this on some days but not as often as mine.
a) Pre-diabetic?
b) Yeast infection
c) Some kind of viral/bacterial infection
d) Stress? Not sure about this as I'm known to be very cool person

Hi friend I suggest you have some problem of inflammation with the bladder or the prostate too. Have them checked. My solution is cranberry for two month as a supplement and quercetin. Best luck and let’s know if things go well. Also firewood may strongly work but it can give temporary sexual issues ...

Hello. I know frequent urination problem can be frustrating to say the least. To find the underlying problem is not easy, but since you've done several tests, I guess you know already which suspected causes to be ruled out.

Like Mr Spock once said, “When you eliminate the impossible, whatever remains, however improbable, must be the truth". So, if your kidneys are fine and your GTT result is excellent and the fact that you are not diabetic is confirmed, then probably the next thing to check is whether you have prostate problem or an overactive bladder. Also check if you have urinary tract infection (UTI).

Since you mentioned about dehydration, what did your doctor and test say about this? If you keep feeling dehydrated even though you drink a lot, this might be caused by electrolyte imbalance or some mineral deficiency. A simple kidney test (like creatinine and BUN numbers cannot really tell how good your kidneys are working). For a more thorough kidney analysis, usually your doctor will order a urinalysis (which involves a 24-hour urine collection).

Frequent urination can also be signs that your body try to rid of excess glucose. What did your blood glucose test say about this? What is your HBA1C level?

HBA1C can be a good indicator how well your sugar level over the course of 3-4 months. But it's not a flawless indicator. One can have a "normal" HBA1C (under 6.5% -- US unit) but actually having blood glucose rollercoaster every day. So in this case, having a blood sugar monitor will be a real help. If your after meal test shows very high glucose level, then this is probably the excess glucose that your body needs to rid of through urination. Over time, excessive glucose will burden your kidneys and frequent urination is carrying some electrolytes out too, hence the dehydration.

I think that's all I can say. I'm no expert so my guess is only as good as the next guy.

One thing I know for sure, buying a blood sugar monitor is definitely a worthy investment for your health. Whatever health issue you have, managing blood sugar is always useful and ensuring long term health benefits. Good luck.

He might have said it but if so he stole it from Sherlock Holmes.
As far as the OP is concerned, I would also consider prostrate problems, although that is normally associated with being much older, the symptoms are similar.

Spock did indeed say it, and he was quoting Holmes. Seeing as how Moriarty showed up frequently in Next Gen, I have a feeling Roddenberry was a fan. I kind of nerded out when I read it, but didn't want to derail. As for bladder issues, they do merit looking into... There's a great many non-diabetic issues that could cause this. (Has your spouse been checked out for her urinary issues? Could be related, could be an entirely different problem that needs attention) Off to the proctologist & urinary specialist!

On a more serious note. Frequent peeing is often said to be caused by the body's need to flush out excess sugar so on that advice alone it sounds to me like pre diabetes. The intermittent nature of the problem could be due to what you eat as the body can make sugar quite efficiently from lots of foodstuffs.

The fact that your wife seems to have "caught" this is a big clue since you may eat around the same table or similar meals. At the risk of being rude can I ask if you or your wife is overweight. This could be another clue to pre diabetes.

There is another clue in your post. Urinary infections are the bane of people whose pee has a high sugar content (or if they forget to put their socks on before their jocks).

Feel free to consult a doctor who may actually know what the problem is.
