Hello all,

@shelley262 -- nice to see you back. Hugs for the stress, hope your son will feel better soon. Keeping my fingers crossed that you will be able to start your vacation on time.

Found some 10 year old cans of Old El Paso enchilada sauce I bought in Egypt (how time flies). Made some cheese enchiladas sans the corn tortillas and used some roasted peppers instead. I really enjoyed it, forgot how good enchiladas are.

Breakfast: Two double decaffeinated espressos with cream and erythritol. A piece of egg liqueur cake.

Lunch: A small serving of homemade low carb Pad Thai. Another small piece of egg liqueur cake.

Dinner: Half a DD keto roll with garlic mayonnaise and smoked salmon. About 100 g of the red cheese enchiladas (a bit carby with 5.5g of carbs per 100, but so good) and about 20g of lupin hummus. Two glasses of red wine throughout the day.

Went a bit above my daily carb allowance, will increase my exercise to compensate.

Can I ask what coconut porridge is?

Breakfast I had a cashew waffle with butter and peanut butter and black coffee
Lunch I meet up with friends I had salmon with salad a gin and tonic and black coffee. When I got home 5 hours later I checked my BSL and it was 2.8mmol/L so took two glucodine tablets and defrosted a chicken breast in microwave. Pan fried with ghee. Made a dressing from pan juices using lemon juice water and a teaspoon of cream served with a cabbage salad and a garlicky dressing I think I need to discuss with my doctor about the medication I'm on
Hi Annabelle, the cashew waffle sounds really interesting. Can you share the receipe with me and other members who maybe interested as well.

Hi Saur,
We are all different and it depends upon low much carb you can tolerate, but Cashews have by far the highest carbs of any popular 'nut'. They have over 5 times as many as Brazil nuts and Pecans, 3 time Walnuts, as over twice as many as Almonds ro Pine nuts.

So they are on my list to avoid except as a very rare treat like chocolate.

Edited for link : Here is a link to the relevant DietDoctor web page: https://www.dietdoctor.com/low-carb/nuts

Getting further behind.
Breakfast, none. just tea. Then onto the main task of the day. Getting MrSlim a doctors appointment.
We went to the first surgery, Doctor opened the door himself, in our rather rudimentary French we asked for a rendez vous. Once he had established that we had no other Dr in France and that we lived within the area. 11 am tomorrow.
Well that was simple enough, and more prompt than our surgery in UK. Usually a three day wait at least, unless you can convince the health navigator it's urgent.

Lunch, pâté salad, avocado, tomato and cheese salad, little hunk of delicious seeded baguette, water, tea
Squash and tea in the afternoon.
Dinner , the rest of the moussaka, beans and leeks. We had Bordeaux Clairet to drink, it's a very dark pink, almost red rosé . I had the fig left from yesterday and nearly drowned it in cream.
Tea in the evening.

B: none
L: smoked salmon pate
D: chicken and halloumi kebabs, marinaded in tandoori spices. Served with cream cheese.

Mutt 3 went to her holiday home today.
The house feels sooooo quiet and empty without her joyous activities
Mutts 1 and 2 are looking like they can emerge from the bomb shelter! Haha!

Off on our holidays tomorrow for a week. Self catering. Tescos delivery times for soon after arrival.
Let’s hope we aren’t late!
Quite a lot of 70% chocolate seems to have fallen into the virtual basket. :D Hey ho, that’s wot holibobs are for, innit?
Amusingly, most choc ingestion must occur before 3pm, or the caffeine keeps me awake. Hot choc for breakfast, eh? Wot an ordeal!!!

Today, MrB was playing in a golf competition, meaning I was chef of the day. I finished off the latest batch of clotted cream, and I reckons it's one of the best yet. That said, I also made some ricotta, and it was low yielding this time, for some reason, but in some ways that was a relief. There's only so much soft cheese we can get through - even if this batch had a bit of extra thick double cream, drained off the clotted cream.

For dinner, I did the Tandoori Lamb Chops we've enjoyed a few times before. https://cookpad.com/us/recipes/2609649-tandoori-lamb-chops . They're so simple to do and so delicious. I did them in the air fryer, and they were fabulously crisp around the edges.

Breakfast none, just two cups of tea.
However I did manage to clean the shower room, empty the dishwasher and clean the cooker. Picked up apples, more than one wheelbarrow today, no doubt due to yesterdays brisk wind.
Off to Doctors, he does speak a little English, which helps a lot. He advises a consultation with a specialist, gives us a letter with the address and phone number, and then offers to phone for us. Five minutes and some Euros later we have the appointment for this afternoon. HOW GOOD IS THAT?
Lunch out, buffet starter(managed to keep that low carb) but succumbed to a thin slice of baguette for my pâtè, veal kidneys in red wine sauce with salad for the main.
But dessert, couldn't resist Crême bruleé. One of the best ever, perfect crunchy caramel nuggets, smooth, not oversweeted custard. Absolutely delicious. The meal included wine, I had two half glasses and several of water. Green tea afterwards.
Killed time wandering about the city, once we had found the clinic. Tea at a pavement cafe.
Times up, off to the clinic. Waited perhaps 15 min to see the consultant. He speaks better English than we do French. Examination - operation required, do we want it in France? He makes arrangements for us to see the anathestitist, operation will be in three weeks. Still cannot believe how fast this health system moves.
Back home light? supper of pate, cheese, salad, bread, wine. Opened a can of corned beef for the Scaredy Cat,. Who is now sitting under the car and hoping for more.
Trip to UK booked, parents and brother to provide accommodation, granddaughters primed for visit, looking good for end of October.

Way behind again and on train WiFi so not caught up. At a conference in Cardiff today. Highlight of the day was being given a free cup of cocoa whip (cocoa and cream) in Hotel Chocolat. Makes for a very nice dessert. AND the buffet lunch at the conference had chicken wings with no carby bits, so having eaten a large precautionary breakfast of fried eggs and bacon at the hotel, I also enjoyed a decent lunch and Five Guys for dinner. I’ll come again!

Hi all what wonderful weather today
Missed breakfast issues to sort
Lunch mushroom and cheese omelette
Dinner cauliflower cheese, two lamb chops, glass of red wine followed by DGF choc brownie and four home grown raspberries with spoon yoghurt and cream.
Stuff to sort first thing tomorrow too so will probably be another two meal day of necessity rather than choice!
