Tujeo vs Lantus

Hi there. Type2 since 2009. Started very bad from my side. Not well controlled BG and just slowly changed eating habits (was living on Chinese and fast food for years). Started with various pills (Oglynza,Metformin etc). After a while (year or so) added Lantus. Readings were up and down, but not stable. Around 2012 Lantus and Januvia (later changed to Janumet). Still crazy readings as my GP only increased Lantus units. In 2014 ended up in Emergency with sugar 34+ and ketones 4+. After this "accident " a diabetic specialist took over my treatment and there the magic started. He explained that food intake is very important and we started from scratch. 16u of Lantus and 4 u of Novorapid. The plan was to stabilise the bg first. That happened within 1 year. Readings went from 16-24 to 14. When it was stable started increasing insulin. Ended up on 40u of Lantus (split 20/20) am/pm. Reason was that when taken 40u in the evening caused some hypos in the morning (1.9-2.8). Novorapid went on to 8-10 units (depending on the size of food).
Don't really care about food, but got rid of Chinese and fast food, as they are VERY BAD. Still having some once in every 6 months, just for a taste. The reason is that when followed the dietitian advice and lost lot of weight and looked like walking dead. So from initial 174cm/130 kg went to 174cm/72 kg within 3 months. The result was awful visage and even my own brother didn't recognize me. So I told to nurse I don't care but want to get back to "normal " shape. She put a note to my file "problematic patient ".
One random hospital visit a nurse in hospital once told me : eat whatever you like, just add more insulin. My dad does it for years and all ok. So after testing which food is bad I started eating whatever I like with various insulin dosage and guess what, its it's working. My current Novorapid range from 6 to 14 units and Lantus on 34. With this "attitude " I managed to keep up the deal I made with my doctor: keeping the bg level on single digit ( bellow10, as I feel" shaky if bellow 7). So This was working well until now. The diabetic nurse changed Lantus for Tujeo back in October and there the problem started. My readings went to double digits, 14-22. Started evening time, then last week changed to morning but same result. Seems to me that my body is immune to Tujeo. The bg is still stable, but high... any idea what to do? I am on trial till my next appointment in December, but thinking to go back to Lantus. Any ideas???

Why did she change it to Toujeo if the Lantus worked well?
Could you give her a call to ask to change your prescription back to Lantus?

Well she just said it's better stronger etc... usual "promotion " blah blah... have next appointment in 5 weeks, so most likely will go back to Lantus. Seems to me that my body doesn't accept Tujeo. Tried 2 days without it and bg was nearly the same as with it...

Back to Lantus and after a week of "settlement " all back to normal. Strange that Toujeo seem to have no effect at all for me.
