Fasting blood glucose

So I was reading that fasting blood glucose should be 5.6 or under to be considered normal. So would a normal non diabetic person sometimes get readings above this in the morning ? Or would it always be below 5.6 no matter what they ate or how they slept etc.....
Thankyou

Type of diabetes
Type 2

I'm not sure, i'm going to start testing my wife to find out heh.

Fasting having been up for a while i think should always be below 5.6, but i dont think that applies to "just waking" because your body pumps loads of glucose round to wake you up. I wouldn't be surprised if non diabetic people can have spikes just after waking up?

Yeah I have no idea either, sure someone will know .... but yeah I might start giving my wife a little prick in the mornings and if she wakes up I’ll take her blood glucose
