I was diagnosed with LADA diabetes 3 weeks ago, exactly on my 54½ birthday, after visiting my GP with the symptoms - constantly thirsty and peeing etc. He did blood and urine tests and sent me straight to hospital. They fixed me up and told me I'm diabetic and gave me insulin pens, needles, glucose tablets etc. It almost felt like Christmas had come early but not with the presents I wanted!
Anyway, it's early days for me and there seems to be a lot to look forward to. Would it be cheeky to ask what's the difference between this forum and the one at diabetes.org.uk? Should I follow both?
