Hope it's ok to post this here as I'm T2, but insulin dependent.
How long do folk find it takes their blood sugar to peak after a meal? My peak occurs between 3 and 4 hours and after a fairly slow initial rise. I normally bolus novorapid about 15 minutes before a meal, but am starting to wonder if I delayed bolus until about 30 minutes later if this would reduce the late peak.

This is unusual for a T1D unless our basal is insulin is too low.

It could work, or it might just turn your sugar into a banana (no pun intended), a peak in the first hour, dipping, and then rising at the 4th hour. Also if you have some insulin production left you don't want to exhaust your pancreas during the first hour.

If this were to happens to me on a regular basis, I would give myself a second bolus at maybe the 2-hr mark. But then again I'm used to putting in ridiculous amounts of effort to keep my diabetes liveable.
