Right Im back alfter being carted off by Paramedics to A&E for Intensive Pain relife
as pain spasms would just not stop
So spent the last week on a Mix of intravenous Morphine other stuff & Hospitail food  and the ready made shakes my wife smuggled in two a day,I was made to have the midday meal

Ward sister made me go back on my diabetic tablets to keep umm happy i had then
but i managed to spit them out or just put them in my Bin

BG was going up alfter the mid day hospitial meal managed to come down to around 7 3hr+mark
so think got away with that, some days I was just too ill to eat anyway

Sunday I managed to get a nurse to push me onto the wheelchair scales So this last sunday i had lost 1 1/2 lbs despite or becuse of the Hospitail food

BG are bit higher than the week before, I hope to get them down this week sticking to the diet

Hi Bob - I do hope you are feeling better now and not in so much pain.
You really got the better of that nurse spitting out the pills
Great wife you've got - smuggling in the shakes. Not much of the hospital food you could eat I imagine.
Following your progress on the diet. Great work - keep it up.

In view of the requirement to have a South Park avatar to do this diet, I suppose this is not off topic

Is South Park on the TV at the moment, if so, which channel as (confession) I have never seen it (not living in the UK). Which days? I may now be able to see it. I think I have missed something vital to the understanding of this thread

Couldn't find a cat...

If you don't know about south park, you don't NEED to know about south Park.

People easily offended should definitely NOT watch! (In fact - even those who AREN'T easily offended usually find it a bit close the bone...)

Saying that - some episodes will have you falling of your chair laughing!

Hi Bob
I am pleased that you are back home after 'being carted off' and still with the program.

Well I have been back to the Uk now and was ok with it but I am glad to be back here in France now.
I feel more in control of things here.
However I have been having a funny day today.......wanting to eat all sorts and anything that is not on the program.......but I didn't do it.

So it got me thinking what happens when we hit the end of the program, are there further guidelines or is that it we are on our own and just play it by ear?

I will be at the end of week 7 this weekend............so I am on the downhill stretch as far as the program is concerned.

I just wondered if anyone has any info.

Hi Bob glad to see all is well with you and yours and in such a good happy mind set. :D

I have done my weekly weigh-in this morning and still great results!!! :p

9lbs week1
4lbs week2
3lbs week3
3lbs week4
4lbs week5
3lbs week6
4lbs week 7

So thats ...............30lbs........... altogether whoop whoop!!!
I am still on track with the programme and my Bg was 5.4 this morning so all is good.
Only 1 more week to go to the end of the official program but I will go on with it further I think, now that I have got this far with it. It's so easy to do with only the odd time that I have felt tempted to have something off program. However I have resisted and it has been worthwhile with these results. I also have to add that I feel very healthy on it too.

Well hope you have a good weigh-in today Bob and I look forward to reading your update.

same as coming off the Optifast diet see:
Go to the bottom of the linked page and you can see the way you come of this diet same way
as the Newcasle study
http://www.optifast.com.au/why-optifast-vlcd.aspx

This is what my Gp and Nurse told me to do much the same as above

Drop 1 shake out replace with a normal healthy meal
Keep with 2 shakes and one normal meal until you reach your target tonnage

Then drop two shakes out replace with two healthy normal meals prob low carb for us ?

Keep a eye on your tonnage if it starts to go up need to reduce portion size of the normal meals
or total kcal count

If you are keeping to your target tonnage level for six weeks then drop the last shake out
replace with a normal healthy meal

if at any time you start to creep up drop total Kcal’s or drop back to replace one meal with a shake

To be Honest few of the shakes I really like eg the Banana one
Think I will keep my breakfast shake maybe use milk instead of water when im finished

I quite like the idea of maintaining a shake for breakfast. I'm sure that'll reduce my appetite for lunch, too.

Congratulatiuons on the weight loss, Diane. You've played a blinder!
