Newly diagnosed and not sure how to raise a topic with the doc

My hab1c is getting re ran on Monday - the doc said i wouldn’t be put onto metformin until it reached 53 but she made an off the cuff remark about her knowing i test and said in future if it gets that high ive to phone nhs 24 ... i just think this is all wrong

Ive now booked an appointment at our local private hospital to test islet cell antibodies here’s hoping well soon find out what im dealing with !
