Hi,
I’m new to LCHF diet and have been following it for 2½ weeks. I have the Carb Manager app. I use many recipes included with the app (paid version) and really enjoy them. However, I have come across one recipe I found on a Keto diet site that I imported into Carbmanager but it has been placed in ‘strictly limit’ category. I can’t see why. Here’s the ingredients …
Serves 2
Green Olives 68g
Lettuce, Iceberg 114g
Bacon Lardons 200g
Tomato Raw180g
Olive Oil, 6 tablespoon
Green Pepper, 1 medium
Feta Cheese100g
Avocado, Green Skin, Florida Type, 2 each (608g
Black Pepper, 1 teaspoon
Glycemic load 5.2

Could it be the gl?

Thanks

Avocados are FLORIDA so possibly the size of watermelons. Forgot where I read it, but somewhere it says no more than half per person.

What are you supposed to do with all that olive oil.

90g of tomatoes???

3 or 4 olives per person.

50g or less feta cheese.

I would add zest of a lemon and drizzle the juice.

Maybe add a few chopped walnuts.

Any list of salad ingredients is just a suggestion imo. What do you have in the fridge and store cupboard?

The OP recipe would probably serve 12 of us, which is why I asked.

I’ve checked the ingredients again and yes the ones I listed are correct. I use small avocados, about the size of a peach and less feta. It’s too salty for me. It’s a tasty dish but as you say, very oily. I make one portion for 2 meals. Probably the fat content is too high hence categorised as ‘strictly limit’ although I thought on the LCHF diet it would be ok.
Thanks for all your replies.
