I notice it was posted by "Prof Grant" - I'm guessing maybe Prof Grant Schofield? In which case, George Henderson may also be involved in the research behind the post as he is with most of the Prof's posts.

Ah thanks I did try and find out who Prof Grant was but had never heard of the site before so wasn't sure.. originally saw it from DiscoStew on twitter so guessed it might have been from your part of the world.

Saw it on Newsnight and read the BBC News story. Systemic corruption in medical research? Never :shifty:

Remember, it's only a conspiracy theory if it isn't true. Otherwise it's merely a conspiracy. Hopefully this will snowball and wake people up to what's being going on under their noses for decades. It may even make people realise that stories like "keto-crotch" and "meat kills" are so very obviously fabricated flimflam.

But this is way worse than the usual obfuscated game of epidemiology and statistical Top Trumps, since people actually died here in real trials and the data was buried. I'm not normally the BBC's greatest fan, but they deserve kudos for having the minerals to uncover this long-running despicable sham.

"Trust me I'm a cardiologist".... or maybe not..
https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/health-51539112
My Cardiologist was well aware of this information and we went for surgery instead, I know someone (T1D) who had a stent or two fitted two years ago, and he is now up for them to be replaced already, Stents have a very limited lifespan anyway because they fur up far quicker than the original plumbing.

Stents have a very limited lifespan anyway

Where's the evidence for that?

And information given by my cardiology team. The orofessor in charge is an eminent heart surgeon at the regional heart specialist centre. They are in a good position to know whether their procedures are effective since thay also deal with the rejects, They make more money from surgery, but have a much faster turnroud from stenting,

It might be a generalisation

Yes it might, but a bit of a problem if it is not. Certainly some people have stents lasting 30 years or more. Its all about risk reduction. if 40% of stent ops have an adverse event then that seems quite high risk. I am used to working to six sigma events, which is 1 event in 10^9,
Sounds like the odds of being hit by a lightning bolt when crossing the road.

There was a study two
Two years ago there was a study done in an Australian hospital that analysed post mortems following various CV suspected deaths, and the main finding was that the majority of them had low or medium cholesterol levels, and that the ones with high TC were also associated strongly with smoking or alcoholism. This study was suppressed by the authorities who instigated court procedings shortly after it was published. I did provide a link in a thread here at the time but it was fairly swiftly de-activated by Error 404.

Edit to ammend this para:- Seems that more recent analysis has shown that post mortem analysis of bloods gives lowered cholesterol readings and this was not taken into account by the researchers It is also dependant on the make and type of analyser machine used, and the reagents used in them which introduce more errors.

I may be wrong in this, but wasn't there a very public trial that this was allowed to be raised in a defence plea that led to the trial folding and exoneration for the plaintiff. Maybe Australia or South Africa.?
Edit to add:
I cannot find the video I remember gleaning this nugget from,, so my memory is not a good source for info.
