Applying to get my group 2 licence back

I was diagnosed type 1 just over a year ago and I was told to wait until this year to re-apply for my group 2 license to give me time to get my sugars stable, I now have stable readings and I also have all of my blood glucose readings stored. I thought great all ready to try and get my license back and start driving again. I sent all of my forms in and had to make an appointment with my consultant. The earliest date I can get an appointment is 21st September, I told the DVLA and they have now withdrawn my application because it is too long to wait and I have to re-apply closer to the date. By the time I get to the appointment I will have to make another one for next year.

You could ask the DVLA to refer you to another consultant

I assume that if you are keen to get your license you’d be willing to travel??

Just in my area I normally get an appointment within 3 weeks so if they choose another consultant it might be quicker
