Strange pain in feet...

Hello,
over the past few days when I've been asleep I've been awakened by a strange pain in the side of my feet-it's on the inside just above the arches-it's not a sharp pain. It happens in both feet at the same time, does anyone have an idea as to what it could be?
Regards.

Hi CurtisLoewe,
Possible nerve damage/neuropathy ?
Best to go and see your GP with this to be on the safe side.
I have both of these, dont take any risks or chances - best get it checked out with your GP or HCP.
We cant diagnose anything on here as we are not medical qualified or professionals.
Just a forum offering help and support to other diabetics.
Anna. :D

From my experience it could be diabetic neuropathy alone but it appearing on both feet simultaneously would make me think that it's related to your lower back, possibly encouraged by your diabetes. I would try a different sleeping position as an experiment. I get very similar pains but they usually occur in a seated position.
