It’s a mystery yet to be solved

Sounds like mine for the last four days. Did all the right things, didn't eat wildly differently whilst I was away, counted carbs accurately, couldn't get under 8.5 - then suddenly this morning all back to normal!

Well, as normal as anything ever gets on Planet Japes which may not match anyone else's definition of "normal". :D

O.O the mysterious side of BGL(ghostly noise) woowoo

Half a litre isn’t even a pint, I suspect someone has given you some suspect information somewhere along the line. Insulin is the only thing that can lower blood sugar in someone unable to produce it, ie a type one.

And I hate to be THAT person, but we don’t do scolding here. Sometimes things go awry :)

Water works for me, it might seem bizzare, but then Doctors have told me my body is strange anyway Im not of this earth! lol

I get things go Awry, but then when I see People who say they spike over a 10, The first thing I imagine is the headaches, the Dizzyness the confusion, especially for me as my head really burns up when my BGL raises to 9 or 10, if it went higher I'd imagine I'd just end up in a coma.

So if you're saying you're over 11 I'm thinking to myself "how are you concious?

I feel like an alien at times

Okay I’m back to “chucking my pump out of the window” phase. Light hypos so I’ll need to figure out either my carb counting again (im counting it to the best of my ability) or carb ratio. But I want to unplug and roll over.

To be fair to you @Razzamuffin . You are still possibly in the honeymoon.
Water can flush out any excess blood sugar the kidneys are trying to sort out? & it good to stay hydrated anyway..

Ultimately, insulin & or it's effectiveness to do it's job will regulate the BGs.
The only reason that glucose is pumping around the body, is to power it.

By the same token. Not enough glucose in the sytem. To draw an analogy is like a phone battery running out. Power saving mode & a bit glitchy. (A warning may come up to recharge?) Then the shut down..

My bf bought me a tiny Christmas pudding two months ago and I’m eating it now. If yall judging me, desperate times require desperate measures I quite like it, the citrusy’ness is up my alley.

Morning all, lovely smooth night in the fives and my liver has just DUMPED >15g glucose into my system. 8.8 and rising fast. Just waiting for the insulin I did 45 minutes ago to tackle it. I’ll punish it later with gin. First day back out on the road, let’s see what the next 12 hours has in store. Have a good one, friends x

Belated happy birthday @Robinredbreast, sounds like the cosy club did you proud. Hope the crew like your choc brownies @LooperCat and your first day is successful.

We all need to find time for a little rest today, sloth-style.
Happy with Madam BG, slipped nicely into the 4 zone, no badge
Wrap up warm, it looks cold out there

Morning all, snow in the Mendips yesterday and snow on my conservatory roof when I let the dog out last night. If it's cold enough tonight I may not need to patrol for toads; they don't move if it's under 5C apparently, and it isn't meant to be more than 4C.

Had a craving for ice cream last night so had some, bolusedd for it, but I think that may be the reason for waking on 3.9 this morning - overdid it slightly.

Have a good day all, hope you stay warm & dry!

@Robinredbreast chocolate brownie and ice cream :wideyed: mmmmmmmmmm................! Happy birthday for yesterday.

bit of a roller coaster yesterday, lunch was some left over pasta which I didn't get right, but was well with in range come supper/tea/dinner time but that was derailed with pancakes (I can handle pancakes every saturday morning ok but throw in spag bol before hand and it all gets a bit 'up in the air')........oh and a beer or two, a slight correction just before bed saw me on the straight and narrow all night around the 8 mark so happy with that really. Now at 5.6 :smug:

@SueJB rivers drop a lot! and yes it is cold but bright and sunny. @LooperCat to the rescue - have a good day.

Belated penblwydd hapus @Robinredbreast xx

@LooperCat C257H383N65O77S6 insulin????

Well totally got the pancake carb counting wrong!! Had my pancakes (lots of them) gave myself a dual wave bolus (over 2 hours because of the flour) 2 hours later beeping off the MM saying 3.2 and a southerly arrow, checked with finger poke and 2.4! Had my usual jelly babies and tested 15 mins later and a Lo! Another 4 JBs and got the Upward arrow at 3.9. So I went to bed with a choco bar (Caramel) thinking that I should be fine....was awoken at 3 am with my alarm going off and my watch saying 21 AAAARGH! quick pump correction of 6 units and awoke to a 8.1. Nightmare BUT the pancakes were well worth it
