Why do test strips vary from one to another, showing different numbers at the same time?

When you measure anything, there's an error. I've read BG monitors may have errors up to 15%.

If you make multiple measures, take the average, or median.

Or do only one measure and assume the real value is somewhere close to the reading (up to 15% up, or down).

Close is all you need to assume..

If is shows 15 15% either way is high

If it shows 5 you be close to it as 15% of 5 is only a small difference


Even lab results for hba1c vary. There is no 100 percent accurate but they are good enough to guide you in the right direction
