Crux of it? Cholesterol isn’t going to kill you. Total cholesterol is meaningless. Ratios have more relevance. Even ldl needs to be broken down into damaging small dense particles and large fluffy harmless particles. Cholesterol accumulates as sites of damage, caused by excess unprocessed carbs. They are the firefighters at the fire. Present but symptoms not causes. Statins increase blood glucose levels. People with high cholesterol actually live longer. I wouldn’t touch them with a barge pole I’m constantly trying to get my much loved mother to stop taking them.

Edit : From scientific reports not opinion I should add

Thank you so much. Last night I decided that I won’t take them. I’m supposed to be picking them up Monday along with my Metformin but I’m going to tell the Pharmacist to remove them from my package. I was confused because under 5 I thought was okay anyway. The good thing is that it’s made me very determined to lose a lot more weight & do this myself. I can’t thank you enough for giving me the confidence to say no to these. Have a great weekend

As always it is your choice. It’s a choice that can be changed. I’m just telling you my understanding of the reading I have done and my choices. Under 5 is general population under 4 for diabetics. Blanket advice! You can always see how your efforts go for a while without them and learn some more in the meantime. Here’s two easier ones to eat you started.

Rear fog lights, company cars and white vans. Doctors who do not have a clue or just don't care.
I wonder how many opinions I’m going to get here. Type 2 & doing very well, blood back in “normal range” according to DN. Had a chest infection recently and ashamed to say I didn’t eat too well and came away from my LCHF way of life. Yes I’m Male & was feeling sorry for myself . I’m back onto it & the other day I was looking for something to eat so I scrambled 4 large free range eggs with a nice bit of Kerrygold butter, pinch of salt, pinch of black pepper. Stunningly delicious. I had a thought of taking 4 eggs & a bit of Kerrygold to work every day as I absolutely love eggs and scrambled eggs are so easy in a microwave. I Googled to see if this was okay & you’d have thought I’d asked if it was okay to eat a human. Oh my days, if I eat more than 1 a day my life will be shortened with heart disease & if I’m Diabetic I must avoid eggs. Personally it’s a 2 finger job but I always welcome any advice from this great site
I heard some sound advice from one of the specialists at Diet Doctor about eggs. He said eggs are absolutely fine on a LCHF regime but, try to keep your consumption below 36 a day!
