Ok so I wake up to my stupid pump beeping saying blockage and it stops my insulin
This has happen each time I get this dka ****
So I check ketones 3.7
Bs14.6 like seriously ***
Anyway I’m not going near a ****** hospital that’s for sure
So I changed my pump completely and resuming insulin now and I put in for the high sugars
Ya no this is cool that it does this the pump I mean I’m asleep I’m clearly not waking up to it
My gutse is a bit sore but actually I’m not feeling drunk and confused this time
So I guess my question is can with a pen chuck me some extra insulin to get this down
Because I am not going to hospital
Sorry guys I’m just so frustrated
And I’ve allready been dealing with awful nausea for a week now
Any ideas be great
I have texted my diabetes specialist tho
Cheers x

Also it could have stopped anytime during the night
Which is extremely dangerous and stupid
I do like the pump except for this issue, obviously if I’m awake I can deal with it and sometimes I do wake up to it also... anyone else have this problem it’s a t. Slim pump

Whenever I have a pod failure, when I switch it, I always give a shot to bring my numbers down as you never know if the next pod will work right either. (Omnipod system) Drink lots of water too.

DKA occurs because of a lack of insulin so you want enough insulin (without crashing) to bring your levels down. Just because you have high blood sugars doesn't mean you get DKA. However high ketones is a warning that you could really easily be seriously sick.

However different levels are acceptable by different doctors, so you can call and talk to someone about your levels.
If you feel okay and get your ketones down fast I would think that's a good sign. But if you feel sick, DKA can happen pretty quickly. so call your doctor and see if you can get guidelines.

Under "identificatio"n it has levels listed.

But this site says lower is high

Ok great thank you
Cause I feel ok but it says 4.4 for ketones
I did ring the medical after hours they said to keep checking
Hopefully the ketones go down now
Cheers

True steel infusion set you mean the plastic cord that goes from the pump to your body? I managed to get myself back to normal without going to hospital thank goodness.

Does your government healthcare provide any funding for the Freestyle Libre?

I ask as there's add ons for a libre that will sound an alarm when your blood levels rise, thinking bloods rise before the ketones show as they're the result of body's response to a high blood sugar.
