Ok.....I’m getting confused. I have T2 diabetes, on Empaglaflozin, Metformin, and Lantus. I’m oh so careful what I eat...and I’ve been in lockdown since March 13th.
Last night my bedtime BM was 6.5. This morning my fasting is 11.3!!!! What’s that all about? Last food was a ham salad sandwich was at 6pm with Metformin 500mg X 2. I don’t feel ill, I do have a bit of hayfever and my usual aches and pains but that’s it.
Any ideas? Answers on a postcard please....

Dawn Phenomenon (DP) maybe. Body prepares for a new day by making blood glucose for you to use before eating real food. Does not happen for everyone and not all the time.

Did you do another test to confirm the first?
Did you have a disturbed night?

Beans? Baked beans? :arghh: There are a lot of carbs in them. Try a tomato instead. With mushrooms fried in butter.

Avocados are overrated. Not worth the hassle unless you live next to the tree.

If you really want a sandwich try 90 second bread - split and toasted after nuking is best. I find the basic recipe a bit too eggy so add milled flaxseed (about a teaspoon) and a teaspoon of cream cheese.
