Hello everyone! I hope you’re all doing well during quarantine.

I just purchased a vanilla flavoured protein to help me gain some weight, as I always been very skinny.

I tried it for the first time and it taste very sweet, I fear that it will rise my blood sugar to very high levels. I’ve been reading some information about it and apparently is not that bad actually. If you have any advice for diabetes and protein shakes I will appreciate it very much.

Thank you and stay safe!

Hi @RafaelMF , what type of diabetes do you have and are you on insulin or other medication?

I take Optimum Nutrition Gold as it;s low carb, I take it with milk. IF your a T1 you may need insulin for it (I do), as you may get a raise after about 1,5 hrs.

hello there! I am type 1 and I take LEVEMIR and novorapid.
So do you adjust your novorapid to the carbs you eat? If I wanted a protein shake (which I don't) I'd turn the package around to check the carbs and inject according to those.
