Painting for the day. In soft pastels.
Not a cloud in the sky here.
Sky is a uniform blue, no contrails, and a blinding sun, so the day is heating up quickly.

And so I had to turn to my trusty weather book, for inspiration on clouds.
According to the weather book, these are coastline clouds, which we do get a lot of here.

Imagine sailing up the river and into the Irish Sea on a day like today...
(The iPad camera has made this pastel a bit gaudy, I did tone it down in a photo app, but it still looks gaudy to me)

Love the painting - we have lots of azure today - all to the music of Erasure but without the “across the desert” bit.

Good Morning and 6.3 today, not surprised as I was 7.8 last night, worked out carb intake for yesterday and it amounted to 28grams, puzzled by higher reading. Fibromyalgia playing up, i blame that as I blame it for any other ailments.

Cold bright day so bike ride this morning after works rush hour leave the roads clear, hard to negotiate all those Cyclists in their business, suits, overalls and uniforms being responsible citizens and puffing, panting and perspiring their way to work.

Had a video call with MIL yesterday, she seemed chipper, so Mrs MC felt a bit easier even though it was short and sweet, MIL can't concentrate more than a few seconds at a time, bless her.

@gennepher i agree with @Alien Aspie you have a friendly greenman, good you are leaving well alone.

Enjoy what ever the day offers you, if it's not enjoyable take wisdom from it and apply it well.
Encouraging news about your MIL @Muddy Cyclist. Covid cases have gone up to 5 now in Mum's Nursing home but mum is reported to be OK. Had to deliver her 91st birthday gifts 2 days early as they leave all packages in the entrance porch for 24 hours before taking them in. We left them outside and the carer who collected them was wearing a mask/ gloves. Scary but reassuring.

Well folks do you know what your day has in store for you? If you do life can't be that strange. I write from a jealous view point.
A couple of interesting posts about moderation this morning, as you regular readers of my posts will realise I sometimes push the boundaries, sometimes intentionally and sometimes unintentionally. The job of the moderators requires great tact, intelligence and a sense of humour, rare qualities in this day of political correctness. I don't envy the task they have undertaken and wish them well.

Enough from me and me's, it's time for my 10:30 cup. Enjoy your day, strive to bring a smile to a strangers face and don't forget that this afternoons solitary morris dancing practice.

Hi. I'm having trouble using this app, I've only just noticed that you replied, Sorry.

Is there a way to make this app prioritise replies so I don't look like an ignorant ass?.
Hi
I don't use the app. I am on my tiny phone screen. And I use the web version cos it is more comprehensive than the app.
Here are 3 screenshots

So click your icon top right

Screenshot_20200514-103229.png

And up comes next screen

And there is a list of things you can do

Click on the alert preferences
And you get this
These are my alert preferences.
I hope this is of help. But this is for web not the app. The app doesn't alert you to as much as the web

I still see faces and creatures in floorboard grain, and tiles as well!
I'm not too bad now but when I was young, the house we lived in, the trees from next door's garden used to cast shadows across the curtains in the bedroom when the wind blew. It was really scary and used to frighten us. Used to end up hiding under the bed clothes.
Generally the house did not really have a good atmosphere and it was not just me who used to be uneasy. We did silly things like my sister would not go up to the toilet unless the living room door was left open. I used to have to run down the stairs before the toilet had stopped flushing. We don't know what we were scared of but we were. Found out some years later that my dad would not sleep in the bedroom we had because he believed that he had seen the ghost of an old lady in that room.

Hello survivors.

Lock down all but over, watching the news in London.

So take care all, more people about then previous

Fbg back onto mcgarrett plains....just 5 9
Temp 35.8

Sunny day here.
Hope ya all have a safe day, wherever you are
I agree regarding lockdown being over. Went a 2 hour bike ride this morning and passed someone on every track, I have not seen people for weeks on My one hour rides. As for meet one other person, forget it, no excuse it's clear enough, meet one other person from another house hold, I passed three groups of 2 sets of grandparents with two sets of kids and two sets of grandchildren that's 12 people walking, I suppose they could all live together but I fear it's more a case of ignoring the rules, no hope, back to normal and those being careful will become the radicals and demonised.

It sounds like the carehome is doing its best, I know MILs is under difficult circumstances. Here's hoping for a good outcome for yours and Mrs MCs mom.

I hid at the bottom of the bed from stuff and was terrified of under the bed as a child. And more things.

The upstairs toilet was another problem when I was a child. And linoleum on the bedroom floor. I would scream until someone had carried me from bed to attic landing when I awoke. If I stepped on that linoleum, immediately I awoke, the witches would get me. But they once I had stepped foot on the attic landing bare wooden floorboards, I could then walk back over the bedroom linoleum because I was now protected.

I still really do not like linoleum...

I am remembering loads more!!!!

@gennepher liked those clouds, depth of the flat plain and trees, the only area possibly touching on the Gordy is the yellow, but it looks OK on my iPad.
Thanks @Muddy Cyclist for the compliment on the clouds.
The yellow on the pastel was more yellow ochre, straw like of dried grasses. But yellows are a hard colour to photo accurately.
