You could try asking your doctor, when/if the time comes, whether you can take some antihistamines to tone down your response without it negating the effect of the vaccine.

I was advised to do this by my doctor for the typhoid vaccination because I reacted so badly to it. It really helped for me but of course only your doc can say if this would be appropriate for a covid vaccine, or indeed the annual flu vaccine.

It is not your fault you react to it badly (lots of people have allergies or react badly to stuff) and whoever told you that was completely out of order!

Sounds like an allergic reaction, antihistamine could help... But in the end, it is down to you, it's your choice.

Am I understanding this correctly... staff get vouchers if they take a vaccination?!?! Wow. That is wrong on so many levels!! What do you do for a living?

I like that idea, we have a similar reward system for child vaccinations here in Australia, those who vaccinate their kids get a government child allowance / benifits.

Those who do not vaccinate their kids do not receive child allowance / benifits, which leads to a lot of problems for anti vaxxers.

At present here in Australia if you have not had the "2020 fluvax" you cannot visit your "loved ones" in nursing homes. hospital etc.

The good thing about vaccines is that they have helped us, as a species, avoid mass illnesses and dying. The bad thing about vaccines is that they have helped us, as a species, avoid mass illnesses and dying. Soon there will be too many of us.

Moral: I'm cool with those of you that choose to not vaccinate.

I imagine it’s a voucher for the flu jab, not some kind of voucher to spend elsewhere. Certainly my employer offers a free flu vaccination, which comes in the form of a voucher if you choose it. I simply tell them that I'm entitled to this via the NHS so there’s no reason for them to pay for one on my behalf. Whether I choose to take up the NHS offer is my own choice.

Its the same at my place, they get a voucher that covers the cost of the vaccination at a chemist/pharmacy

It would be wise to discuss your allergy to the flu vaccine with your GP - a reaction involving face-swelling is serious and needs to be investigated. An allergy specialist should be able to pin down exactly what it is in the flu vaccine that you react to and your GP should be able to tell you whether that substance is present in any future Covid vaccine.

It is a big IF a CoVid vaccine comes out and my concern is a) safety given the express development process b) efficacy given that the flu vaccine is only effective in 40% of people and is less so in the obese c) will he actually get a choice whether to take it? If you can't travel for example, without a vaccine certificate d) Lastly that just like a statin people will get vaccinated but fail to address their underlying metabolic ill health thus making them still vulnerable to the next pandemic.
Anyway I think the main problem for Bill Gates et al is that in the Northern hemisphre there are less and less people who are getting infected thus less people to test it on. Across Europe and America people are coming out of lockdown or never went into it and so far it would seem that no 2nd spike has happened.
