I am 3 weeks into a fasting 16hrs low carb diet.
My morning pre breakfast reading 10.2
2hrs after 2 boiled eggs 1slice burgen toast 2slices ham reading 12.2
Total carbs was 13......
Cannot exercise at minute because of bad back.
My meds are two 500 mg metformin
One sitagliptin 100mg
Where am I going wrong ???
Went on low carp diet when bg was 23.6 after lamb kebab 3weeks ago
Would be grateful of any advice As at my wits end
Thank you in advance Katy

Ditch the toast just have more ham and eggs.
Looks like you have high morning sugars due to either dawn phenomenon or your body trying to get rid of as much sugar as it can by dumping it into your blood (or both).
An alternative to try might be skip breakfast entirely and just have coffee or tea with cream? If you are getting high morning sugars then don't give them any fuel to go higher. That's what worked for me.
Sugars will go down over time but by keeping carbs as low as possible they'll likely go down faster.

Oops edit to add Hi and welcome!

You might find that eating lunch and dinner suits more than breakfast and lunch for your 16-8 fasting regime, depends on your lifestyle.
I tend to follow a 19-5 regime.. afternoon snack about 3-4 and then dinner at 7 stop eating by 8 (with last pre bed coffee with cream).

Breakfast as above with tea no milk
Dinner usually meat veg/salad
Snacks dry roast peanuts, cheese strawberry’s cream sugar free jelly, veg soup homemade so know what’s on it maybe another slice burgen if really hungry no more than two a day,

Hi @Dorano and welcome, others members have covered a few adjustments you can make, but I just have one comment to make about your homemade soup. Whatever veg you put in if it’s mashed or puréed, any carbs will be more quickly absorbed making a larger spike in blood sugars. Similarly fruit (preferably berries) is better eaten whole than made into a smoothie.
