I'm new to this forum but not to diabetes.
I was diagnosed in 2008 as a type 1 but after 3 year's on insulin they decided I was type 2.
I was 50 in July but 2 days before my birthday myself and my 19 year old daughter tested positive for covid 19.
Thankfully both recovered at home.
It wasn't easy seeing the daughter have symptoms, tough as a dad that was!
Being diabetic 106kg prop forward and old wasn't brilliant.
I am due to donate my plasma so hopefully this will help.
I was 133kg so am going in the right direction.
I am a welder by trade, still play rugby union and have been a Special Constable for 25 years.
I am currently undergoing training to go on to the police motorcycles.
Also I am looking to join the bloodbikes as a volunteer.
Just thought I would say hello.
Stay safe. Simon
