Abbott didn't offer me a new reader or sensor, they just said that readers and sensors are country/region specific and offered no help.

FYI, Seems all the FreeStyle Libre sensors on sale via BIC Rakuten online shop is locked to only the archaic sensor reader that you must buy separately. It will NOT work with iPhone app. If you try to use the app, it will display the exact same error.
