Hello.

As some of you may know im well in to weight training. Im looking at lowering carbs to help with weight loss. However I need to keep the protein high and eggs are good for this as I can make omelette's with added low carb ingredients. Can anyone send me a link to somewhere where I can buy just egg whites. I have been searching and I can only find them on supplement sites and they are very over priced. I didn't want to just buy whole eggs and throw the yolk out as this is a waste but it may work out cheaper than just buying egg whites.

Why would you want to? There is much less than a gram of carb in an egg yolk. You could eat 10 and still not get a spike.

A new government study found they're actually 14 percent lower in cholesterol and 64 percent higher in vitamin D than previously thought. but maybe still to high for some people.

The cholesterol mate. Sorry forgot to mention that.

Eating cholesterol isn't a problem - the body needs it. If you do or don't eat it, your body makes it. The problem is a buildup of a cholesterol-like substance in the artery walls. There is a strong recommendation by heart specialists to keep LDL levels very low. (With statins - which may have side effects.) Eating egg yolks won't aggravate the problem.

I eat at least 14 eggs a week now, no rise in my Cholesterol labs..I think it's a bit of a myth that they raise cholesterol.
Eat the lot Beav, I know the egg white has less calories but there is not that much in it.

Yeah... I'm sure the concensus a few years back was that although they contain a lot of cholesterol, they don't actually raise it.

Beav - I am another one who admits to eating 14 or more eggs a week, yet my cholesterol & trigs are perfect, in fact my doctor joked saying that my levels are better than his.
I eat cream, butter, fry in butter, oil and lard, use olive oil, full fat greek yoghurt, eggs, cheese, meat, tons of low carb veggies, berries, low carb bread, occasionally a small new potato yet my blood fats are perfect.
Before I started low carb I was eating low fat, a maximum of 3 eggs a week, and the traditional NHS recommended bread, pasta, rice or potatoes with every meal - my blood fats gave great cause for conceren each and every time I had blood test done.
I enclose a link for you, this explains a little more how things work in our bodies,
