That’s concerning. Are you being supported/monitored by a Diabetes Health advisor? Doctor or nurse? Please keep us updated. I started my journey with a 18, yes, and within a month drove this down to 9. You’re taking the best first steps: taking your Numbers and joining us here. Please keep us updated. Lots of support here :) .

I am supervised as far as possible by a diabetes nurse but have recently seen an endocrine specialist who recommended the new NHS diet to me. The surgery responded with a letter saying they could not offer me any support.

He has also recommended some medication. I have not taken it because when i did take medication, the side effects were discouraging. I should like to get the bg down through diet and exercise but trying that route has resulted in a further rise to 18.8 today. Dr jason fung says a period of releasing sugar from cells will follow the change from medication to diet and exercise.

Not very encouraging all round.

Just a quick reminder folks that this thread is to record fasting blood glucose levels with very low chat level. There has been increasingly more chat and questions appearing recently. Can we please keep this thread free for fasting levels by posting discussion and questions elsewhere, in an appropriate sub forum. You’ll get a better response if you do that too :)
