I’m was diagnosed in July and I’m still getting to grips with diabetes.
I was told in hospital the ideal for my bloods was between 5-7, I recently saw the consultant who said I was to aim for 8 or above at night time. This totally throw me as new to me. Anyway I’ve been doing that and it’s been easy as they changed my ratio to 1-12 as I was having too many hypos, so I’m now getting the higher levels anyway.
But I always wake up higher... is this normal? I’m usually within the 2 mmols but if I go to sleep at 8 I’ll wake up at 10....

Feedback would be appreciated

Hypos are dangerous, so they will ask you to run your BS's slightly higher to stop them. A 2 mmol/l change in blood sugars for basal is a good ballpark figure when you're starting out. On my DAFNE course, they said 0.5 to 1.5 mmol/l change was ok.

I really recommend the Bertie course: https://www.bertieonline.org.uk/
