Morning all!
Can I just say if I ever thought education was a tiring place to work pre-pandemic it has nothing on this last week.
A week where we've had 3/4 of the group in the room, the other 1/4 on the other end of our equivalent of Zoom, (thanks to sudden changes on the Clinically Extremely Vulnerable lists and thus suddenly shielding), sticking to the new routines for being at work, coping with the ever-increasing sudden changes with those who just don't do change, and still meeting administrative demands from the bureaucrats who never set foot in a working classroom in usual times, let alone now because they are working from home to be safe.....
Then the withdrawal of some vital to our group's tech by our tech teams because our specialist software is no longer compatible with the hardware just at the point the demands were coming in for "evidence" of work led to much wailing and gnashing of teeth.
The end of week e-mails from utterly grateful parents with our suddenly now shielding students made us all realise it really was worth all the angst! But we are exhausted.
Yes, a lazy weekend is needed. Beams round at everyone, has a large slice of cake to commemorate World Diabetes Day,, (appropriately dosed for) and goes back to slumping.
