A late congratulations to you @Choosehappy!

I have to agree with looper cat that pandemics suck.

I can’t even choke on my food without anyone giving me an odd look .

Definitely happy Friday!

Hello again, my boyfriend bought some furniture to do up our little place. So it’s DIY Sunday and a tidier place :)

Diabetes not too shabby, I was 6.7 this morning. Ever since I got a new blender, I’m back on the iced coffee grind. It’s never too cold for an iced coffee right?

Sigh my dobie has an eyelid infection again. I don't think it completely went away from the last time. She's not happy, sleeping a lot, but she's okay. I put in her normal drops for the day and all of a sudden she wouldn't open them. Two vet visits two days in a row. I hate it when my doggies don't feel good.

@Marie2 hope your dog soon feels better. Not nice when pets are poorly, you feel so helpless. Sending hugs.

@MeiChanski good to see you posting again. Hope you're ok, and uni's not too stressful.

@LooperCat take care and stay as safe as you can, you're doing an amazing job in a totally horrible year, and have my utmost respect. Keep posting when you have the time. Hope you have all the PPE you need, and are getting the breaks and days off that you should get.

Not having good chocolate, and not cycling
So world diabetes day is close. Doing anything in blue? Anything?

I’ve got a blue cycling jersey set out for tomorrow’s ride. It’s winter weight. Hopefully it’ll be warm enough. With tights.

I’ll be slow in cold weather kit... ugh.

Morning all, piddling down here in Oxford but I'm going to celebrate world diabetes day by wearing all turquoise, might even paint my nails.
I've also been presented this morning with another rare opportunity to wear the badge 5.5 so I'm very happy.
Piedmonte peppers for lunch, now that's nice.
Happy Diwali to all who celebrate this.

Blue's my main clothing colour as standard! Happy cycling and hope you don't get too wet!!

Morning all!

Can I just say if I ever thought education was a tiring place to work pre-pandemic it has nothing on this last week.

A week where we've had 3/4 of the group in the room, the other 1/4 on the other end of our equivalent of Zoom, (thanks to sudden changes on the Clinically Extremely Vulnerable lists and thus suddenly shielding), sticking to the new routines for being at work, coping with the ever-increasing sudden changes with those who just don't do change, and still meeting administrative demands from the bureaucrats who never set foot in a working classroom in usual times, let alone now because they are working from home to be safe.....

Then the withdrawal of some vital to our group's tech by our tech teams because our specialist software is no longer compatible with the hardware just at the point the demands were coming in for "evidence" of work led to much wailing and gnashing of teeth.

The end of week e-mails from utterly grateful parents with our suddenly now shielding students made us all realise it really was worth all the angst! But we are exhausted.

Yes, a lazy weekend is needed. Beams round at everyone, has a large slice of cake to commemorate World Diabetes Day,, (appropriately dosed for) and goes back to slumping.

Bigotry, reliance on unsupported 'facts', unkindness, unfairness.
The only blue for celebration this morning was on the bottom of the bread that had been lurking in the corner of the kitchen. It’s now been binned.
Call me a grumpy old woman but I’d like to paint all the people who look askance at jabbing in public, at saying no to a super carbed pud, who don’t take account of hypo recovery time and who value profit and turnover above the provision of good food a deep midnight blue.
And I’d like to put a turquoise halo above all those who’ve developed the tech and the insulins, those who’ve put carb amounts on food packets, who’ve produced food counts and apps, and those who’ve worked hard and with kindness to understand what it’s like to live with all kinds of diabetes, who’ve listened and tried to help.

Hypos!
The person who learned what insulin does in a body, and created how to deliver it to people like us.

https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Frederick_Banting

Today is/was his birthday. This is why World Diabetes Day is on the 14th of November.
Thank you for sharing! So this is the man that saved my life! I thank him tremendously and will always remember and share his name!

Morning all, hideous weather day here yesterday, went out with a friend and her dogs to walk yesterday afternoon having waited as late as possible because of the light, and after ten minutes the dogs wanted to turn round and come home. So we did. My floor was washed by what poured off our coats, theirs included!

Hope today's a bit better, woke up on a 5.3 thank you very much, can I have a badge please @SueJB or do I have to keep it up for the whole day? :hilarious:
