Hi, I was just wondering how everyone’s pregnancy has been with diabetes? I am type 1 and just found out I’m 4 weeks pregnant, I also suffer with anxiety so as you believe my mind is all over the place atm and all I keep reading is struggles women have had with diabetes and pregnancy, really hoping their are some positives!!! X

Can't comment on how its been but also Type 1 and 4 weeks, feeling incredibly anxious. Bloods have been higher than usual for a week now and insulin seems to be taking much longer to work

I had gestational with both my children and am now type 1. I had insulin with my last pregnancy and was looked after really well by a great team! Saw specialist diabetes nurses at the hospital, diabetes consultant and a consultant. As the pregnancy progressed, had growth scans and lots of checks all ok and the size of the baby. I felt more in control the second one, and really tried to feel in control and do what I wanted rather than what they wanted all the time. It is such an amazing time and I hope you get a great team behind you, to help ease your nerves and worries and feel in control. I just used to think, this is for my baby it’ll be ok.

I’m in the same boat. 7 weeks pregnant, type 1 diabetic and also suffer with anxiety. It’s been so hard already but it will be so worth it! We can do this :)

If it reassures you both I gave birth in 1997 and 1999 both were fine I did not have a pump and was not offered one. Just had to keep my BG low enough to discourage high birth weights. Used a novopen throughout. Both induced 2 weeks early. I felt fine throughout. Hope all goes well for you both Diabetes care has improved so much since my diagnosis in 1966.

Hi There .. I got Diabetes in my pregnancy and now I am type 2. Gave birth to healthy baby boy last year. Make sure to control your diet and have insulin shorts on time. I had a normal delivery so nothing is impossible.
