Type 2 Diabetic type 2 and on steroids forever

Hi all, I am diabetic type 2 and on steroids since I was very young, and been type 2 for a few years now, how can I manage my blood sugars if I am on steroids? The medication I am on can make my blood sugars go higher.

Feel for you. I am increasing steroids after months of weaning myself off them.

I managed after an age of struggling, to keep my levels within normal range. It's complicated. I used a freestyle libre and 2 types of insulin.

What are the steroids treating if you don't mind us asking?

My pituitary gland doesn’t make enough cortisol for my body, so I am on one and a half tablets a day, equivalent to 15mg a day.

I am on 15g prednisolone, likely to increase to 20g in December and more in the new year. Insulin will be increased accordingly.
