8.5 this morning which is somewhat disappointing as they have been really good, and I can’t put the reason down to anything as I had a good day yesterday.

Beginning to believe what I’ve been told that managing blood sugars is more luck and magic than science

Hi Everyone,

this is just a quick note from your friendly mod team to remind you that this thread is for a quick comment blood glucose and only a little chat.

there are several other threads intended for longer posts, extended chat and socialising (placed in the General Chat section of the forum) - which have the added benefit that everyone on them can chat away, celebrate, commiserate and vent without accidentally derailing.

Best wishes, everyone

@Ryhia My Hba1c is wildly inaccurate too! They are investigating the possibility that I have type 3c rather than type 2, as I've had high triglycerides for years and years. Which may have caused damage to my pancreas, so don't be too concerned about your results, many things can affect the readings. Doesn't change the treatment much, so no worries there either.

17.2 again. Basal insulin dose increased but still sticking in the high teens.
I see from the posts you've just started insulin. It takes a few weeks for your blood sugars to come down. Slower is better, as rapid changes effects your vision in the short term. What type of diabetes do you have?
