I have to take steroids from time to time for asthma, and require a lot more insulin whilst taking them (however, we're all different). Once I finish them, I gradually reduce the 'extra' insulin as indicated by blood tests as the effect of the steroids wear off.
Regarding correction doses and the amount needed, this is a bit like carb ratio's and is different at different times of the day for a lot of people, myself included, and also depends on how high your blood sugar is and if you have ketones, both of which make you insulin resistant.
