Hi I am still adjusting to my new low carb diets and gliclizide meds. I take one tablet before breakfast and was advised that it would work within 30-40 mins so to have breakfast. I have been doing this but my BG levels in the morning seem high but by 2pm they really drop and I can feel it happening- only to between 5-6 but it makes me feel a bit headachey and weary. I don’t speak to my DN until Weds does this sound familiar?? I had assumed that my BG would be lowest in the morning before food? Tia

Have a look at dawn phenomenon. Your liver tries to help giving you a little extra to get you going. Annoying, it will come down eventually.

Glicazide will lower by. Be very careful going lc.

I do not have diabetes
Have a word with your GP about dosage of Glicizide, it is the blood lowering meds.
It might be better to take the glicizide later, say evening meal.

Stay safe

Yes, Dawn Phenomenon is the reason why (for many of us) our Fasting BG readings take a long time to come down even on a very Low Carb or Keto Way Of Eating.
And by a long time, for some of us it is around 2yrs or so i.e. long after we get into remission!
