Annual Blood Results. Advice Needed.

Hello everyone.
Could someone cast an experienced eye over my latest results, before my GP phones me to discuss them?

My HbA1c is now 32mmol/mol.
Previous results were 99 in August 2019, when I was diagnosed with diabetes. I started the keto lifestyle and the HbA1c was 68 in October 2019 and 46in December 2019.
I'm very pleased with the new result.

Total Cholesterol is now 8.9mmol/l.
Previous results were 5.9 in August 2019 and 6.3 in October 2019.

HDL is now 1.9mmol/l.
Previous results were, 1.5 on August 2019 and 1.3 in October 2019.
I think anything over 1.5mmol/l is a good result?

LDL is now 6.5mmol/l.
Worried about this one. Should it be under 2mmol/l? If so, think my GP will try and talk me into taking statins.

Triglycerides are now 1.0mmol/l. Test was not a fasting one.
Previous results were 1.4 on August 2019 and 0.9 on October 2019.
I think this is ok?

Creatinine levels are 57 umol/l now.
Previous levels were 61 in August 2019 and 71 in October 2019.

eGFR is 60.
I have been on Metformin 500mg twice daily since August 2019.
Do you think I should try and come off the Metformin as HbA1c is now 32? Or remain on it.
Also, what to do about my cholesterol levels?
Sorry for the long post. Hope someone can point me in the right direction.
Thanks.

My HbA1c is now 32mmol/mol.

Excellent well done indeed.

HDL is now 1.9mmol/l.

Brilliant too

Triglycerides are now 1.0mmol/l. Test was not a fasting one.

Shame (about the fasted bit) but still very good Trig levels too

Trig/HDL is now thought to be one of the more important ratios.
Anything under 0.87 is considered excellent
Yours is 1/1.9 = 0.526 which is even more excellent.

Your doctor (and it is a lottery) may, or more likely, may not be up to date.

Your LDL is calculated and the calculation has been shown to not work so well with people following a low carb diet.

If you are still losing weight then your levels have probably not settled and anyway cholesterol measures are surprisingly dynamic like blood sugars so... to prescribe a medication on the basis of one set of readings is kind of crazy.

As always you should decide what to put into your body ... your doc is there to advise only.

As for metformin I'm fairly anti as it made me quite ill but again it's up to you.

Thank you both so much.
My GP is very much old school so doubt if she is up to date on keto.
Still haven't had the telephone consultation with her.
Thanks again for the reassurance.
Take care and keep safe.
