Morning all

I am new to insulin following an HBa1c of 117.
22 units AM
18 units PM

T2D

I’ve been testing one hour after meals and I’m hitting 13.** at times.

Am I testing too soon after a meal? Is this normal?

Thanks in advance

Welcome to the forums.

If you are new to insulin your team will still be adjusting your dose (everyone needs different amounyts).

What kind of insulin are you taking?

And as regards testing after a meal, most people wait 90 minutes or 2 hours, so you are probably testing too soon.

Welcome to the forum. It's best to test just before you eat and then 2 hours after your first bite. This will tell you what effect the meal you are eating is having on your blood sugar levels. It's early days, but testing before and after a meal will help your team adjust your insulin requirements.
