Hi Gremzi,
Take a moment to breath and relax. Life is good, once all of this is under control and you can carry on with your normal everyday life.
I am quite concerned that you have been given Metformin, if this is Type 1 / LADA. I was diagnosed last year in April and was put straight onto injections, to help control the blood sugar levels. Not once, was a tablet even spoken about. I was also told to eat as I was before, so we can determine the amount of insulin my body currently needed at that time. I truly believe this was a universal process for anyone suspected even early on, as type 1?
Please don't starve yourself of good food / nutrients. But, you are doing the right thing on tracking your keytones, as they can become serious if left untreated and rise too high.
For peace of mind, I would request to speak to your GP / Nurse ASAP. If this is type 1, it cannot be managed by Metformin. Only when someone experiences a good Honeymoon Period, can this be considered IMO. But, this all depends on the amount of BETA CELL MASS, that has been destroyed and laying idle from the auto immune attack.
Please get some clarification on which type of Diabetes you have Gremzi. If it's type 1 or 2, it doesn't matter, what matters is that you have 100% the correct treatment plan early doors.
Any other questions, please ask.
