The escape and visit of grandchildren sound ideal.

Marbling worked well, really like the effect, never tried it myself, is it on rice paper? I have been waiting for that Covid to speak but it's not happening. :)
Thank you @Muddy Cyclist and yes, it is on some single thickness unsized rice paper - I have not done this before so thought that I would experiment this week. I think that you have mistake this corvid for the one that has been taught to say ‘track and trace’.

Really good news about the interviews. I am not surprised that filling in the application form took so long. I know that filling forms in on the computer and sending them back via email is an environmentally friendly way to do things but sometimes it is much quicker and easier to fill in a paper form and post it.
Rumour has it, US travel corridors opening...for all travel with Shapps taking all the credit as per usual

Thank you.

Hope those rooms are sound proofed. :)

I have a Gibson s200 but it's an acoustic with pickups, nice guitar to play when the group goes into Country and Western mode.
There's a soundproofed studio like space where you go play...bedrooms thankfully are outta bounds! All socially distanced and masked. Only 9 guests in the joint so it's eerily silent...

You know there's a name for this? It's called Pareidolia. For me it happens more with natural things like trees and clouds, but yes, my old bathroom tiles were a constant source of amusement.
Really @urbanracer
:)
I shall look that up!
Oh yes, that happens with clouds too. With me it is the Greek gods I see n the clouds...
I used to go over to Hilbre Island, at low tide, many many years ago (on a sunny day with packed lunch) and I would lie on the grass, and watch the clouds for the next few hours. Watching Greek gods of course, and when the tide had gone back out again and it was safe to walk back, I did. No people to disturb me...(you weren't supposed to be on the island when the tide was in....)

When first diagnosed I was sent on a Desmond Course and looked forward to that. The course was run by a diabetic specialist nurse and a nutritionist. Within 2 minutes I had decided to ignore everything that these script readers said and did not go back for the second day. Tweedledum and Tweedledee - Agreed to have a battle. I think that they both are now quite hooked on all manor of potions.
I have diabetic education when I get home. I will do it just to get practice brownie points. I suspect it'll be rubbish (forgot the high bar this forum has for even the mildest impolite words in common usage, so have therefore replaced it). Bit tedious.

5.1 this morning. Mr K is doing the weekly Aldi shopping and then its the early morning dog walk. Back to read the 'i' and then admin and lesson planning and of course another coffee.

Wasn't there some sort of rumour going around that a tracking micro chip was being injected with the Covid vaccine. What fun for the person who is monitoring my tracking chip.

My sister told me yesterday that her ex husband isn't having the jab because it changes your DNA. My sister couldn't believe anybody could be that stupid. Actually she didn't say this. Her comments were much more colourful. We were then speculating that if it were true a criminal could commit a heinous crime - have the DNA changing jab - and never be caught.

Why do people believe this twaddle. Although it is no more bonkers than the Eatwell plate.

Congratulations, I hope. Sounds as though you will be very busy.
Hmmm. It's a challenge. And a pay rise although sleep looks optional...Thank-you!
Oh by the way, Shapps the idiot transport secretary will announce travel corridors for all today (now it's after midnight here) with the States up there of course. So might well be possible. Do like San Antonio and Austin - different from most of TX.

Yes. I heard someone in the gas station where I was getting water saying the same. Microchips implanted, DNA changed...I was masked (twice - the idiot wasn't - and no, he wasn't exempt because I asked). The mouthful and xenophobia because I wasn't American spreading foreign disease was remarkable.

I rolled my eyes and toddled off.

good morning everyone from another morning of mystery and expectations here in the dark and dangerous north
The wonder wheel of chicken with spinach, tomatoes and melted mozarella came in at a reasonable 5.2 this am

Our little house on the prairie has now been opened up ready for away days. We have not used it since September and are looking forward to using it again. There is talk amongst the grandchildren of visiting us there next week before school resumes.
2 years ago today we were in San Antonio with one of my sisters and her family. They lived in Texas at that time so we spent a week with them between visits to NY and then Washington for the blossom festival. I expect that we will have to wait until next year to visit again - this time back in their home town of Fayetteville.
The greattits are still around and the male (at least I think that it is) keeps bashing itself on the windows trying to get in. Maybe I should hire a hawk? Bird food - must add that to our shopping list.

Art today - some marbling and a wee corvid who has been taught to say ‘Jeremy’. Hope that everyone has a fabulous Friday - I am going to tuck it onto the next couple of days and have a long weekend. Time for koffy.

The Greattit can probably see another male in the glass.
Texas is place of contrast, when we birded there in the 90s, some lived in mansions and others in sheds as we came west to the Rio Grande from Houston, coming back we came along the coast through that dump of a place in the song ...Galveston.
We changed at Chicago and took a small plane south, the flight was sickly, the plane seemed be blown sideways all the time.
The airport at Chicago is interesting!
But the multilane roads in Houston were a shock to us country types!

Oh and we were prepared and told we should always have some money in our pockets to hand over if we were held up!
D.

I think this painting is amazing @dunelm
:)
The marbling looks fantastic.
And I love the magpie on that cherry blossom with those tiny spots of red.
It is a really satisfying painting to me. I know that sounds like an odd compliment.

On my cherry trees, which the magpies appear to have been fighting over the last few months, two magpies have claimed it as theirs. I am assuming they are male and female. But it would be a bad place to build a nest because of the high winds in this area and they are not all that protected there.

DNA altering jabs - am I turning into a Kangaroo? Can it sort out my pancreas?
