Hello was diagnosed last October and not well with cold and sore throat. Its not covid I have done 3 tests. Does a cold make your levels go a bit high. I injected before tea the right amount of insulin, and just tested and its 11. Its normally round about 6 to 8 most evenings. Still learning about this complaint. And I know alot of cough syrups have got sugar in them, would have honey and lemon but the honey won't do levels any good. Can anyone suggest the best medicine I can take please. Thanks

Hi, yes being ill, stressed, hurt, wind direction etc. just about everything can affect our bg :(

I am lucky enough to never get colds but would just stick to plain old paracetamol, never found any cold remedy to really work.

Hi @Elaine karen . Are you able to check for ketones? The concern with T1 and illness is that if your bgs and ketones go high you can go into DKA. Do you know how to adjust your insulin dose when ill? aka sick day rules. There are a number out there.
