Hi Tia
I am on Ozempic, as well as combination of Levemir and Fiasp insulins. The specialist I see at the hospital introduced Ozempic to me as I when viewing my libre readings, they noticed my blood sugars rising rapidly after eating and it was taking a while for my short acting insulin to get on top of it, so makign me feel a bit yuck.
I'm now up to the maxium 1mg dose per week. It is tough when you go from the 0.5mg to the 1mg dose with the side effects, but I pushed through it and has worked for me. With the delayed emptying of the stomach, this drug has given me a smooth blood glucose increase afetr eating while my injection gets to work. Instead of creeping up well above 10 in forst hour after eating, I can now keep myself in range. My libre is saying my 24 hour average is now 8.1 which for me is great, as before it would be well above 10.
Since introducing Ozempic I have seen my HBA1C result return to normal range and have also lost a good amount of weight from this drug due it making you feel full for longer.
Anything you want to know just ask and I'll try to help you out on my experience with it.
