Anyone know of anything in or around Liverpool at all? For adults mainly as I am in my 30's.

It depends on what you like ,There is an awesome museum with a planetarium which is fascinating but Liverpool is a bustling city with lots of things going on

I know all about Liverpool as a place, I've lived here my whole life (33 years) but in that time I've only met 2 diabetics and only 1 in my age range :arghh: gets a bit lonely sometimes, would love to know some more!! x

I don't live in Liverpool I'm afraid, but have you asked your diabetes clinic if there's anything going on? My old clinic used to have posters up about local events and there was a group who used to meet there, although you only knew about them if you'd seen the posters etc  Might be worth asking? If nothing is happening you could set up something up and ask them to tell others :D

Diet drinks - the artificial sweeteners taste vile.
Having to forswear foods I have loved all my life.
Trying to find low carb meals when eating out.
Diabetes UK have some local support groups.
Depends where about in Liverpool
One on the Wirral, a couple near St Helens.

If you put in your postcode it should tell you the nearest group.

As a word of warning you may find it is full of retired T2s.
Then again, every one is different. :)

I recommend the planetarium as well as the museum of life and the Walker art gallery also the maritime museum and the Tate art museum, not forgetting the Beatles museum!
My preference now is to walk the various coastal areas around Merseyside, except on days like today!
This area is great in the spring, summer.

I'm not aware of any diabetic groups in the Merseyside area.

I've just had a quick look and other than asking for a membership fee and giving Tuesday there is not much information about events!

Oh god no, the thought of setting something up makes me want to be sick! I'm nowhere near outgoing or confident enough for that haha! I'd like to just turn up somewhere and slot in unnoticed and gradually join in maybe! Thanks for the idea though, I will also have a look for posters! My clinic have been a bit useless if I'm being honest, they were just like "oh have you googled it" or "I think there might be a group in Manchester but I'm not sure when or how often they meet etc." I was just like oh right thanks....NOT. :banghead:

I don't live on the Wirral, it is about 40 mins from me, I live near Liverpool John Lennon Airport! The Wirral would be ok if it was like once a month or something though so could be worth looking into! Just wouldn't fancy that journey too often! x

How about the others shown on the site?
Is St. Helens too far?
