Hello,

I have had type 1 for around 5 years now. for the past 2 years I have been experiencing fatigue, tiredness and breathing difficulties. I have overcome a bout of depression and manage to get myself in order and lost 2 stone through diet and exercise. I have also been diagnosed with obstructive sleep apnea and use a CPAP device.

However, I have been feeling low again owing to the pains/stiffness in my lower limbs (achilles) area, elbow joints and hands. I have tried to explain these symptoms to my GP but he just says it tension. Anyway, my GP sent me to a diabetic consultant where I went through the standard tests, etc. Three days later I recieved a letter asking me to make an appointment to see my GP as my urine tested positive for microalbuminuria. What does this mean? Should I be worried?
