over selling.... oh so many things are enthusiastically oversold
Depends on Type.. but T2 can be managed quite well with diet and many of us do that.
T1 will require insulin at some point.

What he said. Honest. No need to trust him though , check it all out for yourself, in your own time

Hi @amediblas .

So T2D. And on insulin, right ?

I'm T2D...but not on insulin
Though do know others who are .and one for definite who was but reduced numbers and doses enough she's now diet only .

LCHF ..a low carb high fat diet, officially,

which i would say is the predominant choice for many with T2D.

But I prefer to see it as low carb. ( Because it is the carbs, all of which turn into sugar that we are more intolerant of)
So less, makes sense.

And high fat, which worries some, but I think of it as better fats

Butter not the chemical mix of margarines on supermarket fridge shelves.

Fat left ON meat rather then trimmed off
(Tastes delicious btw )

And I avoid anything low calorie or low fat , because once that's taken out, it looses flavour so something is added to make it taste more palatable....
which usually a poorer choice for us.

Simplistically it can be...

Meat that looks like meat
Veg that looks like veg
And spices & herbs added by you as you Cook.

Others can go full on and whip up almost anything to match there previous food choices but as an LCHF versions

Others pick & mix from the above and what maybe commercially available

Burgers without the buns, for example.

Many prefer a more vegetarian or vegan route.
Plenty of threads on the forum

It really is an individual choice of
what you do
How you eat
Skills in the kitchen
And time to do any of the above.

Of course I should note that I don't use insulin, but what I know is individuals need to balance what they intend to eat, with the correct dose of insulin/s.

I'll let others explain how and why that impacts or let you do your own research among such groups & topics

It is a lot to take on board
Many ways to manage it
And as always mileage may vary in what is or can be achieved.

Nothing to lose by learning more , I say

Oh and welcome to the forum
a friendly oasis of real & personal journeys retold by members.

And none of the usual Diktat I fear too many are used to, from professionals, who I think frankly should know better.

But even that dead weight of evidence' is slowly turning an eye to the successes had by many on a LCHF diet.

Good luck on the journey back to better health :)
