The tomato was grilled but the portabello mushrooms were fried in plenty of kerrygold irish butter and the steak had a nice marbling of fat which I then fried in the same pan with the leftover mushroom butter so it was a fatty but tasty meal.Defren said:bigfatpaulie said:I've made an appointment at the docs as I had steak, mushrooms, grilled tomato and watercress for dinner last night(Very low carb imo) and my BG was 21 this morning and I'm on metformin and Glicilazide.
I have never had such a high figure. I think the highest I have ever been is 8.1. I think you are doing the right thing seeing you Doctor. The only argument I would have with your meal last night is there was no fat. You could perhaps try frying the mushrooms next time. Apart from that, the meal you had would keep my levels nice and low.

I'm still waiting for my diabetes specialist appt at the hospital as I spike over 33mmol sometimes(My meter maxes out at that level and shows HI) but I'm seeing the doctor first as the hospital appt could be ages away.
