What was your fasting blood glucose? (full on chat)

Blood sugars this Morening were 6.1

Good morning Ladies and Gentlemen and those who took giant steps while wearing stilts .

Due to the temperature I managed to get in my shed / workshop at 7:40 this morning now the shed / workshop is locked and I kneed to stand in the indoor rain cabinet a cold deluge might be favourite.

As the hippie might say “ Stay cool “.

Good morning all. Fbs this morning was 8.5 -the lowest it has been for some time. I only tested once whilst away on our little holiday and it was 12.9! I decided that with 2 hotel meals/day and shop bought sandwiches eaten on the coach during day trips there was not much point testing until we got home. I enjoyed what I ate but it is good to get back to my usual diet and some excercise. Too much sitting on coaches, steam trains and watching entertainment in the hotel wasn't good for my back! It was a busy schedule but it was good to visit our old haunts before they became crowded and we met some lovely people. We also arrived home before this heatwave so I am now finding the coolest room in the house as the heat/ humidity does not suit me. Stay well and cool everyone with my best wishes. :)

6.9 at 01.30 today. It was a fasting reading because it was hours after my last food but it was when I gave up trying to sleep and came through to the kitchen to take some painkillers.

My chest infection seems to be coming back. I was very breathless and could only sit in an upright chair, not even lay back a bit in the recliner chair. Not a good night all in all. I used the oxymeter to get an idea what was happening and my sat level kept dropping down to below 90%. I could get it back up to a reasonable level (even up to 99% at one point) by taking several really deep breaths, but it wouldn't stay there when I went back to normal breathing. I'm waiting for a call from a GP to see what I should do about it. On my second lot of painkillers now which seems to ease it a bit. I just feel breathless but my sat level is around 95%, which is OK.

Good morning everyone on what bodes to be another scorchio here in the dark and dangerous north. I learned when working in East Africa to open windows and doors facing the sun and to then shut all the shades. So we do that. Back of the house in the morning, front of the house in the afternoon. Some folk put reflective items on the outside of windows - tin foil perhaps - does it work? No idea but we don’t do that as it blocks the rays from the aliens ‍.

Anyhow, 5.6 this morning - surprising.

We, Mrs Miggins and I have been treating our double gates at the house end of the drive to a triple coating of wood stain varnish - just the third coat to apply now and allegedly good for another ten years if it just does what it says on the tin.

I think it’s a walk through the woods today to keep cool - and our Tilley hats for when we get down to the beach.

Hope everyone is keeping cool. Tarmac is blistering underfoot, especially if you are a dog.

Koffy - best make some koffy.
That's what we do @dunelm . It really works to keep the house cooler

GP called - the sensible one who told Alistair to go low carb to avoid putting on too much weight now that he is less active. She has prescribed antibiotics for 5 days and then we'll see how it goes. I couldn't remember when I had my previous chest infection but she figures it was the end of January. That must be about right but I was thinking maybe 5 or 6 weeks ago. She says it's OK for my memory to "Take a holiday" at my age.

My memory also sometimes takes a holiday @Annb

Blood sugars were 6.6 this Morening.

Good morning Ladies and Gentlemen and those who peep behind electronic curtains

Today here in Tilehurst Towers it is a day of many halves, more than 3, perhaps the most enjoyable one will be finally reassembling the first of the bench seats I am making for a neighbour’s children, the other halves are more mundane.

Stay safe, stay cool and avoid the media might just bring a smile .

7.6 at 01.30 today. Currently in the 10's. Why? Who knows - I don't.
Bad start to the day - even painkillers are only a little help and I'm having to be very careful about how I move. Neil has just gone down to the pharmacy to pick up my Amoxycilline so we'll see if that makes anything any better.
:D Might as well smile - that doesn't hurt and a frown won't help (and it encourages wrinkles).

A beautiful day today. Really w warm. And sunny. An ideal 5.0 mmols on the thingymyjig.
Plenty of physio and visits from family.weight is 86kilo
I have now spent 4 months in captivity. I need myfreedom!

5.5 this morning.
We are so lucky in Norfolk. No heatwave today so we were able to go to Holt Country Park and have a lovely walk through the woods.

A really lovely cup of coffee at Hetty's tea room and Mr K had a delicious coffee cake. I had just a little piece of it.

The parking meter had malfunctioned. Tried to use the parking all but my phone refused to co-operate A very kind lady was able to use her phone to pay my parking fee and refused to accept my offer of cash to pay for the parking.

Then we met another kind lady who was on a mobility scooter. Bonnie is petrified by mobility scooters so the lady stopped and gave Bonnie some of her dog's treats. After a little while Bonnie decided that mobility scooters were not scary

So a really good day

Good morning everyone on a wonderfully cool and quiet start to the day here in the dark and dangerous north.
A satisfying 5.5 on to scales of Horus this a.m.

The removal of panels from the covered drive marches on; 18 down and 5 to go.

This new inhaler doesn’t appear to be any more or less effective than the last one - telephone appointment on 2nd June to discuss what potions are still in the bag of magic.

Car in today - replace the front offside shocker and then do an MOT.

Hope you can decide to have a good day. I better make some koffy, there is a carp to diem.

7.5 at 02.20 today. Slept longer than expected but still not enough. Had to just keep going though after an on/off doze until 05.00 because today is the day I can take the bandages off my legs and have a proper shower before going to the clinic to have them bandaged up again.
A bit of a hassle over my medication. I ordered replacements a week ago for some pills that were running out tomorrow and some insulin but when Neil went to collect them on Wednesday they said that the prescription had been cancelled by the GP, so no medication for me. I phoned the GP but they denied having done any such thing. Nevertheless the pharmacy said they couldn't fill the prescription because of the instruction to cancel it. We were going round in circles for a day or so. This morning Neil went to see what had been done. Still not sorted out and I only have one blood pressure pill left for tomorrow. Not quite panic stations but I was getting a bit frustrated. Anyway, a few minutes ago the pharmacy delivery man dropped at least some of my prescription (including the BP one). No explanation but at least I have them. So all's well.

5.1 this morning.

We took Bonnie to our little local market town early this morning. She is definitely improving each time we take her in. Of course, part of her training was going into our favourite little cafe where we enjoyed a coffee.

Then back home to do admin with my sister.
Very happy with how today went. I even managed to finish reading the notes for my course at the weekend. They were very complex, so hopefully the tutor on the course will enlighten us.

Google has changed my fitbit app to the Google health app. I do prefer my fitbit app because, of course, I have used it for so many years. Hopefully i will get used to the Google one.

Bed at midnight. Up again by 01.00. Stiff, sore, tired. Didn't bother with BG.

Woke again at 03.00. BG was 10.4. Down to 8.1 after insulin and breakfast.

Having a quiet day today. Too stiff and sore to do anything else. At least we are having some light rain, so the plants should be OK without added water. Temperature is back to our normal - around 10C, wind chill bringing it down to feeling like 1 or 2C A good day to stay indoors, if I could go out anyway.

4.7 this morning. Am really pleased with my readings over this half term. Really strange though that BS readings are so good, even though I am doing so much admin and not doing anything like as many steps as I would normally do.

7.4 at 04.00 today. Went to bed at 23.00 last night and woke again at 01.00 today. Didn't bother with BG then, just settled myself into the big chair to get a bit more comfortable and did manage to doze again until 04.00.
It's a 3 layer day today - heavy tee-shirt, jumper and big knitted poncho over the top. Maybe it's just me that is feeling cold due to whatever the infection is that I am taking antibiotics for. Making me feel pretty poorly. Only another 3 days to finish the course though. I'll get by.
