My morning bloods are between 5 - 7.5

Not sure why it changes so much as I eat a similar meal each night :roll:

Perhaps the reason for that could be that our livers are a bit erratic in their dumping mechanism? :think:

Codefree is indeed a meter and it's the one that uses the cheapest strips so it's popular among members here. It tends to read high.

Yes Karen - it's a meter that can be bought from Amazon and I bought it because the test strips are £7.00 for 50. I bought the Accu-check from the local chemist first of all and then discovered that the strips were £25 for 50 which doesn't go very far at all. It also automatically records the readings with date and time. The lancet pen isn't so good though, so I use my Accu-check lancet instead.

My Codefree meter does show results as about one point higher than the Accu-check because I've compared the two by testing with both meters, but it's a consistent difference so I'm fine with that - it means my BGs are usually lower than they appear, which keeps me on my toes. :wink:

High for me it was 6.2 usually about 5.4 to 5.8

4.7 at 08:30 today, which considering that I let myself off the leash a bit for the last few days (visiting relatives), is pretty good!

9.2 first reading - my highest ever :think: Because I didn't want to believe it, I retested immediately - 7.8 and 7.9. Think my meter is rather inaccurate :shock:

8.0 :shock: then 5.6 & 5.4 afterwards.

These machines are unreliable I agree. In the end I suppose, its anyones guess :lol:

On my previous fasting mine have been between 10.0 & 15.9 as the highest. :shock:

8.9 this morning, 8.5 2 hours later back down to 6 now though

4.4 - 4hrs after lunch: chicken, mushrooms & steamed veg with 3 potato wedges.

Also gave up my oral meds: want to test if I can manage it with diet alone.
3 days now, so will wait and see. :wink:
